Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 29, 2026
Cryptid Studio is a one-person game studio. This policy describes how Shooting Stars Forever handles data.
Data Stored On Your Device
Shooting Stars Forever may use browser local storage to remember:
- Your local high score.
- Your leaderboard initials.
- Cached leaderboard entries for offline display.
- Your chosen graphics quality setting.
This data stays on your device unless you clear browser/app storage.
Leaderboards
If you submit a leaderboard score, the game sends your initials and score to a Cloudflare Worker backend. The backend may also receive standard request metadata such as IP address and user agent. IP addresses are hashed before being stored with leaderboard records.
Leaderboard entries are used to display top scores, reduce spam, and keep the score table manageable.
Feedback Forms
If you submit feedback, we receive the message you choose to send and any email address you provide. To help diagnose performance issues, feedback may also include coarse device information (such as browser, screen size, and measured frame rate). Feedback is used only to diagnose issues and improve the game.
AI-Generated Wisdom
At game over, the game may request a short "cosmic wisdom" message. The request sends the final score to a Cloudflare Worker, which may call an AI provider to generate the text. The AI provider key is stored server-side and is not bundled with the game client.
If the network or AI service is unavailable, the game uses built-in fallback messages.
Offline Play
Core gameplay works offline after the app has loaded. Online features such as fresh leaderboard data, score submission, feedback, and generated wisdom may be unavailable while offline.
